Background

An excellent opportunity to join the Payables and Receivables team within the University’s Finance Directorate.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Payables & Receivables Team Leader to join our Finance Department. This pivotal role supports the Payables & Receivables Manager in delivering a high-performing, accurate, and timely financial service across the University. You’ll ensure compliance with financial procedures, regulations and our statutory obligations in leading a dedicated team responsible for managing a high volume of financial transactions that exceed £500 million in value per annum.

You will have proven experience in a finance team leader/supervisor role, ideally within a Higher Education institution or in a large organisation. You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of accounts payable and/or receivables processes, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise at all levels. Proficiency in financial systems, ideally Unit4's ABW and Microsoft Office applications would be advantageous. The ability to work autonomously and to manage competing priorities with a commitment to continuous improvement and team development is essential.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is split between home and office working. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus.

We will consider your preferred working pattern, but this will also be determined by the service required and the tasks/activities being undertaken.
