Head of Quality
  £45,313 – £55,755 per annum
  Canterbury, Kent
  permanent,full-time

Background

We are exited to be recruiting two new Heads of Quality to join our recently established Quality Enhancement team. This team consolidates academic quality assurance functions from across the University, playing a central role in ensuring effective academic governance and a rigorous, responsive quality assurance infrastructure. The team is pivotal in ensuring the University meets its obligations to external bodies, such as the Office for Students and Professional Regulatory and Statutory Bodies, and stays current with sector best practices in quality assurance.

Role

The Heads of Quality will be integral members of the management team for Quality Assurance Enhancement, reporting to the Director of Quality and Standards. As one of three Heads of Quality, you will be responsible for a key area of academic quality assurance: Collaborative Partnerships, Curriculum & Standards, or Governance, Regulation & Compliance. Each Head will lead a team and work collaboratively across the unit to deliver excellence. Applicants are encouraged to indicate their particular interests and expertise related to these areas.

The University is committed to delivering academic courses and outstanding student experiences that transform individuals, create knowledge, enrich communities, and build a sustainable future. You will help us achieve this by providing expert advice and leadership in quality assurance, working collaboratively with colleagues across the University to implement effective quality assurance procedures and data-informed decision-making.

We are at an exciting point in the development of our quality assurance and enhancement work, with the growth of collaborative provision, the recent implementation of a new academic framework and curriculum management system, the development of electronic workflows for key systems and enhanced reporting, and the strengthening and streamlining of policy. This role offers the opportunity to deliver services and contribute to project work that will shape quality and standards at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Person

You will be committed to ensuring an enhanced student experience through your work. You will possess strong leadership skills and support your team in establishing a new service, ensuring delivery against objectives and identified key performance indicators. You will have an excellent command of detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, with an open and concise style, able to adapt your communication to the intended audience. You will have a project management approach with effective and efficient use of technology. You will demonstrate collaborative working within a complex organization and possess extensive knowledge of quality assurance within the higher education sector.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. While this is a full-time role, the University has a flexible working policy, so all hours (including a fractional appointment) and working patterns can be explored. We work in a hybrid way that ensures we are flexible to both business and individual needs and remain connected to each other and our campus. In practice, this means a mix of days working in Canterbury alongside the flexible choice of working from home if that suits you. Occasionally, you may attend one of our other campuses or collaborative partners.
