Please note a full application including a covering letter detailing your experience alongside a CV is required for applications to be considered. Please be advised applications made without providing a cover letter will not be accepted.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University’s Admissions team as an Admissions Officer within our Directly Delivered Admissions Team, supporting applicants from application through to enrolment and contributing to an efficient, responsive and high-quality admissions service.
You will assess and process applications in line with university admissions policies, regulations and relevant external requirements, using your judgement to ensure decisions are accurate, consistent and made within required timescales. This will include reviewing qualifications and supporting documentation, undertaking eligibility and compliance checks, resolving application queries and managing more complex cases.
A key part of the role will be maintaining the accuracy and integrity of applicant records while working confidently with significant volumes of data and complex information. You will also provide clear and professional advice on admissions processes, entry requirements and application requirements to applicants, academic colleagues and other stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Admissions, Student Records, Compliance, Student Systems, Academic Schools and Recruitment, you will help ensure an effective applicant journey while contributing to the University’s wider recruitment objectives.
The Person
We are looking for an organised, customer-focused and detail-oriented professional who can work effectively in a busy environment where priorities and volumes can change throughout the admissions cycle.
You will bring experience from an administrative, customer service or admissions environment, together with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. You will be comfortable interpreting policies and procedures, working with complex information and exercising appropriate judgement when progressing applications and resolving queries.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to build positive working relationships and provide clear advice to a range of audiences. You will combine a collaborative approach with the confidence to work independently, take ownership of your workload and recognise when more complex matters require escalation.
Experience within Higher Education, admissions, student administration or another regulated environment would be advantageous, although not essential. Above all, you will be committed to providing an excellent applicant experience and contributing to a professional, accurate and effective admissions service.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is flexible and connected (Professional Services) - Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
(Please note: Leave may be restricted during peak business-critical periods, particularly during August and September to support Confirmation and Clearing activities).
