Background of department/role

An active and engaging role in immigration and criminal record check compliance

As a Compliance Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring the University’s compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) rules, as well as Disclosure and Barring (DBS) and overseas criminal record check regulations. You will have keen attention to detail, be adept at understanding and applying published policy and regulations, and excel at data entry, audit and review. With a strong customer service ethos and ideally experience in compliance or a related field, you will work well independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.

You will be A-Level qualified (or equivalent standard) with administrative experience in an office environment. You must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail in working with data and auditing, and excellent communications skills with those for whom English may be a second language. Knowledge of UKVI regulations of the Student Route visa and outstanding customer service skills are essential requirements.

Desirable requirements: Knowledge of DBS checks and/or overseas criminal record checks would also be advantageous.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is categorised as Flexible and connected (Professional Services) which means Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
