Background of department/role
The Senior Course Administrator is the first point of contact for students and colleagues, responding to general queries and understanding when to escalate more complex queries. The role holder will provide first-line enquiry support to students on a rota basis via the Student Hub Service. This includes face-to-face, telephone and online.
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and customer-focused administrator who is committed to delivering an excellent student experience. The successful candidate will be confident in handling a wide range of student enquiries, using strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement to resolve issues or refer them appropriately. They will be an effective communicator with excellent attention to detail, capable of managing competing priorities while administering key student processes, supporting course delivery, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the University. Experience of providing high-quality administrative support in a busy environment, alongside a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement, is essential.
You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE English and Maths at grade A–C (or equivalent qualification) or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience of working in a similar customer-focused environment.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. This role operates on a hybrid working pattern, with full-time staff typically working three days per week on campus and two days remotely. For part-time staff, this arrangement will be applied on a pro-rata basis. The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate and may be adjusted to meet service and business needs. During any required training period, there may be an expectation for increased on-campus attendance
