We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and socially aware Support & Inclusion Case Worker (Specialist Harassment Adviser) to join our Student Support and Wellbeing team. This is a key role providing dedicated welfare support to students facing complex personal, wellbeing and inclusion-related challenges. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates from a global majority background.
You will manage a caseload of students, many from marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds, offering expert advice, action planning, and wellbeing interventions. You will act as a named adviser for students disclosing incidents of harassment, including a specific focus on racial harassment and discrimination.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all students — regardless of background — can thrive, feel heard, and receive the support they need to succeed in their studies.
As our Specialist Support and Inclusion Caseworker, you will:
Offer tailored, one-to-one support to students experiencing barriers to their learning including homelessness, financial challenges, caring responsibilities, harassment, discrimination — with a focus on racial harassment.
Liaise with internal services and external partners to ensure coordinated and student-centred support.
Develop and deliver proactive wellbeing initiatives and drop-in sessions.
Contribute to a wider institutional approach to inclusion, equity, and support for all students.
Maintain accurate, professional records and engage in reflective practice to support wellbeing — yours and others’.
What You Will Bring
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting individuals with complex wellbeing or inclusion needs and case management.
Is confident in assessing and managing risk.
Brings a nuanced understanding of the student experience and barriers faced by marginalised groups.
Has lived experience of minoritised ethnicity and is committed to using this perspective to support others.
Thrives in a collaborative, student-focused environment and can adapt to evolving challenges with empathy and professionalism.
Additional Information
Your lived experience, insights, and understanding will be invaluable in providing culturally competent support to our diverse student community, particularly those who identify with experiences of racialisation, exclusion or discrimination.
