Powder Coating Operative
£12.17 - £13.20 per hour

Powder Coating Operative required for a growing Manufacturing Company based within distance of Tonbridge.
Job Purpose:
To run the pre-treatment, preparation, and powder coat process for painting small and medium-sized fabrications.
Main Tasks:
To prepare fabricated parts for powder coating including washing, and blasting of components.
Masking of threads and bores to protect from shot blast damage and paint ingress
Handling these components through the blast equipment and washing equipment to achieve a good surface finish and high cleanliness level ready to accept the paint.
Hanging components in an efficient manner for priming, painting, powder coating, and baking
Coating of components in line with the defined process
Transfer of painted components to the ovens for baking
Unloading components and packing for delivery to production areas and stores ensuring the paint finish is not damaged
Day-to-day monitoring of the chemicals in the industrial washer
Day-to-day monitoring of the blast profiles
Batch inspection of the powder coat thickness achieved on components
Daily cleaning of powder booths guns and general area
Daily and weekly 5s and housekeeping duties
To take personal responsibility for the PPE issued and ensure it is kept in good condition at all times
To comply at all times with the company H&S policy and to ensure that all work is carried out in line with the relevant Risk Assessments
To adhere to the Company's environmental policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents, and the disposal and recycling of waste products
To undertake other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature which reflect the level of those described above that may be required by management.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent attention to detail and ability to visually inspect each component as it is being coated
Able to work to high-quality standards
Good hand-eye coordination
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly
The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Good time management
This role is physically demanding and therefore requires a level of fitness from the individual; the individual will need to be able to stand for long periods and be able to lift and manually handle a variety of components.
