Job Role: IT Junior Developer
Location: Dover
Salary: Up to £30,000 dep on experience

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support internal and external software developments during the software development lifecycle, including:

• Ensuring solutions satisfy business requirements
• Software build
• Software testing
• Post-implementation support of internal software developments
• Proactive maintenance of internal software developments
Duties of the Post Holder
1. Support the IT development function with gathering solution requirements and defining the output requirements for internal and external development projects.
2. Support the IT development function in delivering internal development projects using agile techniques and modern coding practices.
3. Perform software tests and coordinate end user testing.
4. Coordination of post-implementation training/handover to the IT Operations team.
5. Deliver minor updates and application support for internal developments.
6. Maintain and create business reporting using SQL/database queries.
7. Maintain and create technical and functional documentation.
8. Work closely with the wider department, providing timely assistance and support as required.
9. Make suggestions for any projects or initiatives that would enhance existing or develop new IT services.
10. Take responsibility for self-development. Identify opportunities for training to keep skills current and to advance your knowledge in other areas of technology. Undertake technical and non-technical training as required.
11. Be flexible, as required, to cover annual leave and provide out of hours support as required by business needs.

Generic Duties

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties as assigned by the management from time to time. Such duties will, however, be reasonable in relation to the jobholder’s skills, abilities and status.
To comply with environmental instructions and to identify potential risks to the environment, or areas where environmental impact can be reduced.

The Ideal Fit

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of software development.
• Must be able to demonstrate experience of:
o C#, .NET, Web Services, JavaScript, JSON, HTML5 and CSS
o Agile Development Methodology
• Experience using an IDE (preferably Visual Studio) and source
control (VTFS & GIT).
• Admin and support of software applications.
• Application testing & feedback.
• Experience of working with cloud architectures (predominantly Microsoft
Azure)
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Power platform (Power Automate and Power Apps) or other Low-code/No-code alternatives.
• Experience of SQL.
• Knowledge of cyber security and secure by design principles.
• Demonstrates a can do attitude at all times.
• A good awareness of customer service.
• Can travel to Dover when needed.
• Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
• Comfortable managing own workload / timetable.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, working within a team.
