An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fee Earner Assistant to join our Residential and Resales team based in our Canterbury office. This role covers 08.30 – 17.00, Monday to Friday and is inclusive of a one hour lunch break.

We are therefore looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our business, who wish to be part of our success.
The purpose of this role is to support the Fee Earner and be the point of contact, providing high levels of customer service by responding to telephone calls and emails in a timely manner. You will be dealing directly with clients, developers, Housing Associations and their solicitors, estate agencies, mortgage companies and brokers. You will need to administer daily work to a high standard and to make an excellent contribution to the financial success of the team.
Key Duties of the Role:
• Being first point of contact for clients, Housing Associations, Independent Financial Advisors (IFA’s) to provide updates;
• Dealing with legal enquiries;.
• Sending legal reports.
• Initial steps when file opened: requesting Memorandum of Sales (MOS) and dealing with it once when received by updating Partner;
• Processing mortgage offers;
• Processing legal reports;
• Preparing draft contract packages and obtaining titles from Land Registry;
• Requesting management packs;
• Initial Steps when draft contract package is received.
• Ensuring Firm policy and procedure is adhered to during the transaction;
• Participate in all training programmes initiated by the Line Managers;
• Report all issues of concern to the Head of Department or as they may direct;
• To administer daily work within the restrictions of GDPR, Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Solicitors Regulation Authority;
• To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client service.
Requirements for the Role:
• Ability to prioritise your workload and stay calm under pressure;
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of people either face to face, by telephone and via email;
• Use IT systems efficiently;
• Produce accurate work and have a keen eye for detail;
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs A – C/9-4 or equivalent is essential;
• Previous legal admin experience.
