We're working with a well-established national housebuilder that is about to start a new development of around 40 traditionally built homes in Chertsey. While the title is Assistant Site Manager, the reality is that you'll be the main management presence on site day to day, supported by an experienced visiting Project Manager who will provide guidance and mentoring along the way. If you've been waiting for the chance to prove you can run your own project but haven't yet been given the opportunity, this could be the perfect next move.
Your new role
You'll be involved from the early stages of the build and will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring work is progressing safely, on programme and to a high standard.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing site activities on a day-to-day basis.
Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring programmes are met.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Driving build quality across the development.
Organising labour, materials and site logistics.
Monitoring progress and reporting to the Project Manager.
Managing inspections, snagging and plot handovers.
Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
This role offers genuine exposure to everything involved in delivering a successful housing development and provides an excellent platform for progressing into a Site Manager position in the future.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll ideally have experience working on residential developments and be comfortable taking ownership of areas of a project.
We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:
Experience as an Assistant Site Manager, internal's Manager or Site Supervisor.
Housebuilding experience, ideally with traditional build projects.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A proactive attitude and desire to progress your career.
SMSTS and CSCS Card.
First Aid qualification
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who's keen to step up, take responsibility and make the most of a rare opportunity to run their own site with the support of an experienced senior manager.
