We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and learner-focused College Counsellor to join our Mental Health & Counselling Team. This rewarding role provides one-to-one counselling support to learners across North Kent College campuses, helping them overcome barriers, build resilience, and access the support they need to succeed.
Working under the direction of the Mental Health & Counselling Lead (MHCL), you will deliver high-quality counselling interventions, support referral triage, contribute to mental health awareness activities, and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to ensure learners receive appropriate support.

The successful candidate will have experience of counselling young people, a strong understanding of professional ethics, confidentiality, safeguarding, and frameworks such as BACP. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build trusting relationships, demonstrate sound professional judgement, and work effectively in a busy educational environment.
You will hold a recognised counselling qualification and maintain appropriate professional accreditation or registration. Experience of working within education, mental health, wellbeing, or safeguarding settings would be advantageous.

The Role:
Where you’ll work: The role is multi-sited covering Dartford, Gravesend, Tonbridge & Hadlow
Your hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per annum
Your pay: £28,035 pro rata per annum + £5,231.67 holiday pay (£36,547 full-time equivalent)
