Do you have a passion for Engineering and want to inspire the next generation? Whether you’re already working in education or looking to move into teaching from industry, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our Engineering curriculum team for the 2026/27 academic year.
We are seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineering professional with strong mathematical ability and experience of CAD to deliver Engineering programmes from Level 1 to Level 4, including General Engineering at Levels 1 and 2, the Level 3 BTEC in Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, and the Level 4 HNC in Electronic and Mechanical Engineering.
Our Engineering curriculum prepares learners for employment through practical, industry-focused teaching in electrical, mechanical, fabrication and manufacturing engineering, using CAD/CNC and schematic capture software. If you're passionate about developing future engineers, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Gravesend campus.
Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (0.1 FTE).
Your pay: £38,049 to £45,445 per annum full time equivalent, dependent on qualifications and experience.
The College:
North Kent College (including Hadlow College) is proudly rated as an Ofsted ‘Good’ provider, with ‘Outstanding’ learner behaviours and attitudes (April 2024). With four campuses across Kent (Dartford, Gravesend, Hadlow and Tonbridge) and over 6,000 students, we strive to equip the young people who study here with an inclusive and innovative education experience to enhance their future career prospects, which, as noted by Ofsted, is supported through our high-quality, industry standard facilities. Each and every staff member plays a key part in delivering the success of our learners’ experience, and we want those who join our curriculum and support teams to share our passion in achieving this.
The Benefits:
In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect the following as a Lecturer at NKC:
• 42 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time contracts).
• Enrolment onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), one of the most generous in the country.
• Access to free parking and a number of onsite facilities, including gyms, restaurants and coffee shops.
• CPD and support from our in-house Teaching & Learning team, who coach, train, and guide our Lecturers through their teaching journey, from unqualified and new to teaching to qualified and experienced.
How to Apply:
