Chief Bee - Natural Heritage Manager

The BumbleBee Alliance is seeking a new Chief Bee - Natural Heritage Manager, 32 hours per week, with a fixed 20 month contract, to take forward a visionary and very important Heritage Fund project called 'BeeSkilled - BeeSocial', in the EAST KENT / ASHFORD area

The purpose of the role is to lead the project as the most senior project staff member, overseeing the strategy and operations and ensuring success in delivery. The Chief Bee – Natural Heritage Manager will be a highly qualified and skilled individual able to provide heritage leadership for the organisation and will also play a lead role in driving forward the project from commencement to successful completion also helping the organisation to grow in competence, relevance and resilience.

Applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

•Ability to manage a multifaceted Bee heritage project based in East Kent area, operationally, administratively and provide ongoing reports to Trustees and Funder to strict deadlines
•At least 10 years proven experience at a senior management level gained in the BEE focussed natural heritage sector and programmes
•Educated to a Professional Doctoral Level Degree / PHD in a BEE focussed subject area with equivalent proven practical experience.
•A Diploma Level qualification in Customer Service
•A Diploma Level qualification in Community Development
•Vocational Qualification Assessor Qualifications
•Masters Degree Level Qualification in Management, with at least ten years practical experience in Project Management
•Organisational Leadership role in a high profile position, extensive proven project management experience including endangered and at risk bumblebee and honeybee projects, strong leadership, vision, and strategic direction.
•Proven experience of Managing Heritage Funded projects
•Proven experience of managing BEE programmes including BumbleBees and HoneyBees for funded projects
•Proven experience of working with marginalised groups and those with Special Educational Needs
•Proven experience of managing staff and volunteers in the non-profit sector
•Experience of managing Learning and Development programmes, and knowledge and experience of providing Online Learning and Provision.
•Excellent communicator with excellent standard of written and spoken English, and preferably one additional Language(s)
•Experience of developing and implementing learning and strategic plans.
•Ability to understand monthly financial Profit & Loss reports.
•Experience of managing funded projects in a natural heritage setting..
•Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to operate and network confidently at all levels.
•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to audiences and take forward media opportunities with confidence.
•Experience of fundraising in the natural heritage sector, including applying to trusts, foundations and government departments.
•Competence in managing operations, including personnel matters.
•Willingness to work independently on evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary and to take a hands-on approach, with a very flexible working environment and flexible remote working.
•Computer literacy in main Microsoft packages.
•Full Clean Driving Licence - including Minibus Licence
