Background of department/role
We are looking for a full-time Facilities Officer as part of a team of 2, based at Medway campus.
The Facilities Officer role is split mainly with facilities functions but supporting the security area and the successful applicant will work within the Facilities Management and Housekeeping Services area of the university’s Estates and Facilities Services Department. The role will be required to meet the needs and expectations of students, staff and guests, delivering a flexible and professional service.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate their customer focused skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills. They must be able to maintain the highest personal professional standards representing the front-facing service of the University and to demonstrate the ability to deal with difficult and occasional stressful circumstances, to provide a clean, safe and secure environment.
A shift pattern of early and late starts is worked within these posts. Start and finish times may vary to maintain the overall flexibility within the Medway Campus, and occasional weekend work may be required to support student recruitment and other important campus events.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working shift patterns wherever possible, but there may be occasions when cover is required outside your normal working patterns such as weekend or bank holiday is needed.
Shift patterns examples are 06.00-13.30 Mondays to Fridays or 13.30-20.00 Mondays to Fridays but flexibility required.
Uniform will be provided.
