The Diocese of Rochester is seeking a Mission & Ministry Development Team Administrator to play a key role in enabling the smooth running of training, events, and processes that support clergy and lay leaders across the Diocese. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our diocesan vision by resourcing those called to missional leadership and discipleship.
About the Role
• You will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Mission & Ministry Development and the wider team. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and providing secretarial support
• Coordinating administration for training courses, CMD, IME2, and diocesan events
• Supporting the smooth delivery of high-quality training and development programmes
• Administering grants, enquiries, applications, and course materials (including via Moodle)
• Publicising events and keeping web content up to date
• Preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on actions
• Assisting with budget planning processes and grant administration
• Offering general office support including reception cover and handling confidential matters
This is a varied and collaborative role at the heart of our Mission & Ministry Development team, helping to ensure that those training for and engaged in ministry are well supported.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
• An excellent administrator, with proven experience managing complex tasks and processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint)
• Highly organised and able to meet deadlines under pressure
• A confident communicator, both in writing and verbally
• Discreet, reliable, and able to handle confidential matters sensitively
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Flexible, with a willingness to occasionally work evenings, weekends, or residential events (TOIL applies)
It would also be helpful if you have experience working within the Church of England or understand diocesan/parish structures’
