Our client, a thriving organisation in Basildon is looking to recruit a Van Driver on a permanent basis to join their expanding workforce. The ideal candidate will have held a full and valid driving license, have exceptional people skills, good numerical skills and a flexible approach to work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Van Driver role:



* Ensure vehicle has daily checks, as per the driving manual, and kept clean and tidy at all times.
* The driver is the 'face' of the company and is required to provide high standards of service to clients at all times.
* Check goods whilst loading and unloading the van to ensure cargo integrity and highlight any damages or loss immediately to the Transport Manager.
* Assist with the loading and unloading of your vehicle, checking against notes to ensure accuracy of receipt or dispatch of goods.
* Safety - Ensure all freight loaded is secured and unlikely to move during transit, using straps when required.
* Drive safely at all times and within the legal requirements. Be courteous to other drivers and the general public.
* This role involves delivering to multiple sites in Central London - so knowledge of London is essential



Requirements for the Van Driver role:

Have held a full and valid driving license for at least 5 years

* Good numerical skills
* Excellent people and communication skills is essential - you will be the face of the company!
* The ability to work extra hours if required / Positive and friendly personality with a "can do" approach
* Punctual and reliable
* London Driving experience is essential
