Thanet District Council is undergoing an exciting Transformation Programme, focusing on streamlining our processes and enhancing the customer experience. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced GIS, LLPG & Systems Support Engineer to provide exceptional service to our staff and customers. You will be instrumental in maintaining and optimising our GIS and LLPG systems, ensuring they are fully integrated and effectively utilised.
Job Purpose
The GIS, LLPG & Systems Support Engineer is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer service experience while providing expert support for council systems, specialising in GIS and LLPG. This includes installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:
GIS & LLPG Management:
Maintain and update the Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPGs) to BS7666 standards.
Manage UPRNs and ensure adherence to address standards and relevant legislation.
Integrate and maintain GIS and LLPG systems with other council databases and platforms.
Maintain the integrity of OS and third-party data layers.
Technical Support & System Maintenance:
Provide expert technical support for GIS, LLPG, and related council systems, ensuring optimal performance.
Conduct timely system upgrades and configuration changes.
Conduct security scans and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Maintain technical documentation.
Customer & Data Management:
Deliver excellent customer service and provide expert guidance to staff
Manage spatial data and utilise data analysis for system improvement.
Submit data to the NLPG central hub and correct returned records.
Compliance & Continuity:
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Support recovery actions and ensure alignment with council incident response and business continuity plans.
Ensure all work and datasets comply with relevant legislative, statutory and industry-standard requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in GIS and LLPG system support.
Strong understanding of BS7666 and UPRN management.
Experience with system upgrades, configurations, and security practices.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to manage spatial data and conduct data analysis.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
