Purchasing Administrator
Location: Rochester
Hours:
* Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
* Friday: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
Job Purpose:
The Purchasing Administrator supports the Buyer and Senior Buyer in sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management to fulfil the organisation's requirements. This role includes supplier coordination, order processing, and inventory control to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supplier Evaluation & Market Research:
Assist the Buyer in identifying potential suppliers and researching market trends and shifts in supply and demand.
* Supplier Relations & Negotiation Support:
Help maintain supplier relationships and assist in negotiating terms and agreements. Provide updates on orders, delivery time-lines, and any arising issues.
* Order Processing & Inventory Coordination:
Prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies, monitor inventory, and work with Inventory teams to keep stock levels balanced.
* Order Tracking & Reporting:
Track orders to ensure on-time product delivery, prepare reports and summaries for the Buyer and Procurement Manager, and maintain accurate purchasing records.
* Financial Tracking & Compliance:
Help track procurement expenses and savings, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
* Issue Management:
Communicate any business-impacting issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
Key Skills:
* Proficiency in English, Math, and IT, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
* Experience in procurement or administration, ideally in Manufacturing or Engineering.
* Basic understanding of market research, data analysis, and purchasing principles.
* Strong organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work autonomously.
Personal Specifications:
* Enthusiastic about market trends and product knowledge.
* Strong interpersonal skills for building supplier relationships.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Flexible and adaptable to changes in the procurement process.
