Goldhawk is supporting a Firm of Accountants based near Ashford, Kent is looking to appoint a Payroll Assistant to their Firm, they are easily accessible from Ashford and the surrounding Kent area, situated about 20 minutes from a main line station. They are an established local medium size firm with a strong client base and reputation.
You will be working to support the Payroll Manager providing bureau payroll services for their client base and working on approximately 250-300 payrolls.
They need someone with experience of:
The preparation and processing of weekly/monthly/four weekly and annual payrolls including data entry, checking, and dealing with client enquires (holiday pay, Tax, NI, Pension etc)
Cross-checking and submission of Pensions to scheme providers
Dealing with HMRC enquiries and reconciliations
Managing queries from colleagues within the business
Providing Payroll service in a timely and accurate manner
Ensuring payroll legislation is adhered to.
Managing the distribution of P45s ensuring these are issued to leavers of the client organisation in a timely manner.
Assisting with payroll queries and issues, comments, and complaints in line with policy and process.
Ensure GDPR compliance at all times.
Registering PAYE schemes for new clients where needed
Setting up pension schemes for clients where needed
Keeping client`s payroll file up to date
Essential Skills
Experience in payroll processing and dealing with HMRC (CIPP qualification desirable but not essential)
Ability to always exercise confidentiality and discretion
Positive enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Works well as part of a team whilst taking ownership of individual roles. This is an office-based role. They offer a supportive working environment, parking, pension, 20 Days AL plus BH, and hours of 8.30am - 5.00pm. Payroll bureau experience or experience of working with large payrolls in a fast-paced environment is essential. This is an office based role.
