Our client, an international leading manufacturing company based in Snodland, is recruiting a Multi Skilled Shift Technician with an Electrical Bias to join their rapidly expanding company.

Reporting to and working closely with the Production Shift Manager to provide a
front-line maintenance support service for the shift operations team with the prime objective to be keeping the machinery at the designed output and efficiency. The role will undertake electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance responsibilities across the site to provide first-class maintenance support to all site operations. Secondary objectives will be the regular preventative maintenance routines, scheduled maintenance tasks, and the repair of non-critical spare parts.

Your role will include:

- To take or initiate any corrective action necessary to ensure continuity of production
- Working closely with the Shift Manager and personnel from the operations teams, to
assist in the safe correction and/or replacement of electrical, instrumentation and
mechanical equipment that has contributed to a failure of a piece of equipment and
impacted the performance of the paper machine and associated plant
- To provide a verbal brief but concise and accurate handover of your shift activities to the oncoming shift technician and shift manager
- If necessary to be able to deputise for the shift manager in his absence or as directed.
- To accurately document work activities undertaken during the shift onto the shift
maintenance log
- To be the responsible person for your shift team to ensure the appropriate safe isolation of plants and equipment. This includes the requirement to provide relevant permit(s) for work undertaken for which you are suitable, competent, and trained to do so
- To carry out site-wide routine inspections of the plant and equipment, logging equipment
parameters and defects as necessary in order to establish trends and abnormality reports
that will assist in the evaluation of plant performance
- Routine and preventative maintenance programme of all instruments, electrical and
mechanical equipment within the Mill that is within your area of competence as directed
through the SAP Work Order System and the 7-day plan
- The overhaul and repair of Electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical components and
assemblies when cost-effective to do so, working to high engineering standards of repair
to deliver reliable spare parts
- To undertake any necessary improvements, modifications, and upgrades of the
instrumentation, electrical and mechanical systems so as to optimise efficiency, reliability
and safety

The Ideal Candidate:

- Previous experience in a similar position
- HNC in Electrical Engineering
- A good understanding of high-voltage isolation
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working with the manufacturing sector would be advantageous
