We have an immediate requirement for a Production Planning Manager with a global manufacturing client in the area.

The role is presented on a fixed term contract basis for 12 – 18 months with 1st October 2023 as a start date.

A good understanding and experience of SAP Production Planning is considered essential.

A favourable rate of pay is available, largely depending on experience.

Skills & Competencies we ae seeking:
In order to meet the demands of the role, we are ideally looking for applicants ideally with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in production planning within FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) or a food manufacturing environment
Experience in hands on planning using SAP and previous experience in production or other areas of supply chain would be an advantage
A proactive approach to tackling problems is required
The ability to manage your own time efficiently prioritise and escalate issues in a timely manner
A real team player who is keen to adapt and continue and to contribute to the common goals of the department and overall business
High levels of numeracy and literacy good IT skills with excel to intermediate or advanced level
experience of successfully leading teams or projects would be an advantage

Snapshot of the position:
Efficient scheduling of production for a portfolio of production lines using SAP and Opcenter/Preactor APS, in a busy highly automated production environment operating 24/7
A good working knowledge of SAP production planning is essential, with experience gained in FMCG or food environment preferred
Creation of a running schedule and production orders taking into account customer demand, inventory policies, and factory efficiency
Controlling the packaging line at plan and bulk plan, to ensure customer orders are available and released for sale on time, working closely with the production management team to ensure compliance to the plan new line calling in raw materials and components to support the production plan using SAP generated vendor schedules and purchase orders, working to inventory policies
Efficient and timely management of MRP lists, ensuring all stages of production lifecycle or fully managed, and supporting the end of life cycle to minimise obsolescence and write offs new line cross functional communication required throughout new line strong customer focus a must

Responsibilities will include:
Use of Opcenter APS to produce a production plan for designated packaging lines ensuring the most efficient use of resources, taking into account stock requirement dates new line
Smooth any peaks to ensure headcount is used effectively escalating any peaks or trends that cannot be smoothed and that will cause capacity issues, inventory issues or overtime/ shift working
Generate necessary documentation to support the production plan via SAP
Ensuring SAP is kept up to date
Contact suppliers to bring in materials to support the plans
Build relationships both internally and externally:
Ie. internally Supply Planning, Logistics and Warehousing, QC, Production, Customer Fulfilment. Externally supplies of raw materials and components
