Senior Estimator, Kent or South London, Main contractor, £competitive + bonus

Your new company
A leading Main contractor working across Greater London in the commercial refurbishment sector now seek an experienced Estimator to join the team. With offices in Kent and SE London they are focussed on the Education and healthcare sector, typically working on public sector backed refurb schemes between £2 - £10 million. Following an exceptional year of growth they are in an extremely healthy position with a strong orderbook, several new framework awards plus ongoing multi-phased projects. This is a permanent role based in either north Kent or SE London and will form a key part of the preconstruction team.

Your new role
As senior Estimator you will work in an estimating team of 3 and part of a larger preconstruction team. You will be working from Drawings and spec, typically on 2 stage tenders, identifying risks, scrutinising specs and value engineering where needed in order to build up a accurate price for the Commercial directors to assess and develop to submission. As part of the preconstruction team you will be predominantly office based with occasional site visits and tender interviews to add technical input. The business work with a number of repeat clients and in turn work on a high amount of negotiated tenders and direct awards. Contracts are a mix of JCT or occasionally NEC with very limited D&B elements.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Estimator with a clear history of pricing works on behalf of a main contractor, You will be comfortable working form drawings and specs and have worked on 2 stage refurbishment tenders, ideally within the healthcare/education sectors. Tier 1 or local sme backgrounds are welcome. Experience of working with causeway or conquest packages will be needed, This is a long term senior level role and therefore only available on a permanent basis and to those able to commute to either North Kent or SE London on a long term basis
