Production Operative

£10.50per hour, full time, North Chailey, Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm (40 hours a week), 28 days holiday, Christmas shutdown, generous staff discount, parking, pension, weekly pay



The Role

Our client is looking for a reliable, responsible and dedicated production operative, ideally with a background in food or FMCG that understands Health and safety around food production. This is a physical role involving carrying and lifting of bulk ingredients. Core duties will include:

* Weighing ingredients and then mixing, mincing and pouring products into a processing machine
* Packing processed products into containers, keeping different product types separate. Sleeve and label accurately.
* Check quality of finished product reporting any issues or defects
* Stock rotation
* Monitor stock storage conditions
* Make up boxes for packing
* Liaise with warehouse team
* Keep production area clear of obstacles, clean, safe and sanitary
* Aid other areas of the business including warehouse/dispatch if required



Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have a background working with food or pharmaceuticals and have an awareness of hygiene around food product and correct storage procedures. This role requires standing and lifting for much of the day, so will need someone who is physically fit and able to carry out the duties safely. Sensible, reliable and hardworking are all key competencies, and someone who has good attention to detail.

This is a temporary role, but could go permanent for the right person.



Due to the rural location of this position, own transport is essential.
