This an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist equipment manufacturer to work on a diverse range of products, initially focused on cargo hook release mechanisms, lashings, and restraints. The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks skills gained by designing high-integrity parts and assemblies for specialist applications.

About the role

* Project manage complex, specification-driven requirements in an AS9100 / ISO 9001 environment
* Designing parts and assemblies for specialist applications using SolidWorks
* Support the Lead and Principal Mechanical Engineers with other tasks and activities as required
* Prepare, check, and approve drawings that are to the required standards, that they reflect design intent correctly, and that they adequately define parts for manufacture and inspection

About you

* Mechanical engineering - minimum of 5 years
* Hold an HNC / Degree in a relevant subject
* Possess good engineering knowledge
* Effective interpersonal skills in communicating technical matters
* Competence in the use of CAD tools, to prepare design models and detailed drawings
