Are you looking for a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in an exciting new venture? The University of Kent and the Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre have partnered in a new venture to open the UK’s first specialised centre for non-drug therapy in Parkinson’s disease.

Integral to the smooth running of this new Centre will be the role of the Administrative Coordinator.

Working directly for the Centre Director, you will provide comprehensive end-to-end administrative support for the clinical, research, and education programmes.

This is a new role requiring a high level of autonomy, self-motivation, and a passion for delivering a personal, polite, and professional service.

Based in the Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, you will be a first point of contact for all visitors to the Centre. You will be required to take a proactive role in developing and delivering the administrative processes within the Centre. Extensive administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting, is desirable.

Please note that although advertised as a full-time role, we will consider applicants looking to work 0.8 FTE. This role is based in the Kent MST Centre, however the role holder will be an employee of the University of Kent.

As Administrative Coordinator you will:

Be responsible for the co-ordination and scheduling of patient appointments, and for corresponding with patients, clinical therapists and external parties
Help manage and report the financial budget
Help maintain the information database
Support the Centre’s website and social media platforms
Undertake a broad range of other administrative tasks to support the Centre’s clinical, research and education activities
To be successful in this role, you will have:

English and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or comparable qualification)
Substantial administrative experience, ideally in a health care setting

Excellent interpersonal skills, including a helpful and responsive manner
Experience of using and managing data in line with GDPR and handling sensitive matters with discretion
Based at the impressive, purpose-built Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Canterbury, the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy will provide comprehensive access to the most sought after non-drug treatments. The unique partnership with the University of Kent will provide you with the opportunity to work collaboratively with teams not only based in the MS Centre but also within the University.

Please upload your CV and Covering Letter outlining why you feel you are suitable for this role and why you are interested in working in this healthcare environment.
