This is an integral, unique and varied role working within an uplifting, committed administration and financial team, taking a mindful, proactive, methodical and calm approach to finance processes, payroll and finance / general administration.

Your resilience, diligence and experience in providing fantastic finance, payroll and administration support will be invaluable to the whole organisation finance function. This role needs someone with the skills to happily and confidently organise a busy workload, who works in a calm, organised and systematic way even when pressured, who can take the initiative, work well within a close team and keep a sense of humour.

You will receive the exceptional benefit of working closely alongside and receiving mentoring from our Head of finance who will share experience and offer supportive mentoring, to further develop your financial skill/s and competency.

We are keen to support the right person to grow and develop and work towards AAT and/or payroll qualification (contribution to funding). You may already have started studying for the qualification or it might be something that you have a strong interest in embarking on in the near future.

Hours: Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9-5pm.
This is a 7.4 hour day plus unpaid lunch break.

Location: You will be based in a great office at The Innovation Centre in Canterbury (this is located on the University of Kent site). With great facilities, including free parking, cafe, reliable local transport connections and lovely outside spaces to explore on breaks/lunch/walking supervision.

Salary and benefits: In the range of £22-23,000 per annum + generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays + Contributory Pension Scheme (5% of pay) + Option of funded Qualification

IF YOU HAVE:

You have a solid working background in Financial administration and approach your work with critical and analytical thinking.

The ability, skills and confidence to learn and take responsibility for processing the bemix company payroll (monthly).

Hands-on experience with accounting software, (we use QuickBooks) and are very confident using ICT, especially packages such as Google office suite and Microsoft Office.

The ability to proactively organise and thrive when using systems to ensure tasks are carried out and completed with efficiency and accuracy.

The adeptness to receive, organise and prioritise requests for financial and administrative support from several people using different media, managing competing priorities and pressures confidently and calmly.

Natural communication and great interpersonal skills. You must be able to communicate well, by telephone, email, in person with different types of people, including those with and without learning difficulties and/or autism.
