Do you have good organisational and time management skills? Do you have previous administrative experience in a customer facing role? If the answer is yes, then we could be looking for you to join our Education and Student Experience Team.

As a member of the Programmes Administration team, the Research Programmes Administrator provides a comprehensive, end-to-end student administrative support of the Division’s research programmes and activities ensuring compliance with the Division and University policies and procedures, within set time frames.

With a broad understanding of the routine activities required to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of the research programmes in the Division, the post holder will be largely self-managed on a daily basis, taking direction from the Research Programmes Coordinator where required for less routine tasks.

As a proactive member of the Programmes Administration team, the role holder will respond to students and colleagues from across the University as well as visitors and external contacts on routine matters, ensuring a courteous and efficient response at all times.

As a Research Programmes Administrator your duties will include:

Acting as a point of contact for all research students, advising on a wide range of matters to support a positive student experience. Also acting as a point of contact for staff and visitors to the Division, delivering a high level of customer service by dealing with enquiries promptly and professionally.
Providing a broad range of support and administrative service across all research programmes to ensure the Division is promoting a positive student experience in line with the requirements of the University’s Codes of Practice and policies.
Maintaining records and files (including updating databases and trackers) to ensure research programmes meet University and Divisional regulations as well as external requirements.


To be the successful candidate you will have/be:

Educated to GCSE in English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
Previous administrative experience in a customer facing role
Good IT skills particularly MS Office packages (intermediate level)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
