My client who is the market leader and preferred supplier of innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective building solutions, is looking for a Project Engineer with manufacturing experience to join their growing team.

The main purpose of the role is to define, design & manage key engineering projects.

In summary, this will see you:

Take responsibility for the Company Safety Policy, Health & Safety, and all other legal and safety requirements. Ensuring that these are known and understood by contractors under your control.

Create project specifications for tender by capturing requirements from all relevant stakeholders for new projects

Select engineering partners based on their ability to provide properly considered and tested systems that fully comply with our requirements.

Ensure all projects under your control are managed to promote a good safety culture, costs are controlled, and handovers are accompanied by the required documentation.


Knowledge, skills, and experience required

Formal Project management qualifications, although the demonstrable experience of the successful implementation of large budget projects will be considered also.
Time-served qualification in mechanical or electrical with multi-skill capability.
Appropriate engineering qualification, minimum HNC.
Minimum IOSH, ideally NEBOSH (to certificate level)

Experience:

Minimum 5 years (since qualification) in an appropriate engineering role, in similar industrial environments.
Experienced in management of large-scale projects (> £1 million)
Process/plant design and specification.
Lean implementation, lean tools, and problem-solving techniques.
Knowledge of software such as Project, Excel, Eplan, AutoCAD, and Solidworks.

Skills:

Strong motivation and ability to work unsupervised but also a key member of the factory team.
Clear and effective communications.
Creative problem-solving and fault-finding.
Ability to prioritise activities and tasks under pressure.
Must be willing to travel as required.
