Claims Broker / Technician - Marine

Salary to £35,000 to 50,000 + bens & CII study support

Our client is a dynamic and growing international Lloyds broker based in the City of London, with overseas branch offices.



They are seeking to recruit a Marine claims handler to join a small team of specialists who provide a market leading service to clients and insurers.

You will assume ownership of the full lifecycle of a designated caseload and ensure that claims progress in a timely and efficient manner.



Business will focus on international Hull & Machinery claims for direct & facultative placements encompassing both open market and binder channels.



* Registering new claims and updating on-going cases
* Validating claims in relation to policy conditions and clauses
* Obtain supporting evidence and documentation
* Processing and presenting claims advices and settlements to the market
* Lead claims negotiations with insurers in Syndicate / Company market and overseas
* Liaise with adjusters, surveyors and legal experts
* Keep clients informed, provide support and advice and ensure queries are resolved
* Provide claims analytics and statistics

Skills, knowledge and experience:

* Experience in a claims role within a broker, insurer or MGA.
* Knowledge of the Lloyds market and experience using ECF is essential

* Technical understanding of marine claims - hull & machinery
* Good communication skills, managing expectations and relationship development skills.

* Accurate and good attention to detail.
* Ability to deal effectively with technical and bespoke documentation

* Organised and able to prioritise/re-prioritise due to constantly changing circumstances

* Solid Microsoft excel and word skills
