My client, an instantly recognisable charity organisation, is seeking an accomplished senior finance professional with charity experience and a financial qualification to join them on a 6 to 12 month contract as their Head of Finance.

This is a No1 finance position and comes about at a key moment in the onward development of the organisation. Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and management of a small, dedicated finance team.

Key responsibilities:

- To lead and manage the finance department.
- To manage, plan, prioritise and monitor the workload of staff, ensuring that they carry out their duties effectively and efficiently both individually and as a team.
- To provide such supervision and training as is necessary to develop their skills.
- To foster a `can-do` culture in a team-based environment overseeing all day-to-day activities of the finance department and drive effective financial management across the charity.
- Responsible for the preparation of the statutory and management accounts for the charity and supporting the management with any audit processes.
- Responsible for ensuring that the budget process, monthly management accounts, forecast/ reforecasts and all resulting reports meet the deadlines set for senior management and key meetings.

During this period they will be looking to implement a new finance system, therefore experience in sourcing and delivering a system implementation would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will be a senior finance leader, qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Prior Charity and SORP accounting experience is highly desirable, alongside strong leadership and management skills.
