Site Supervisor
Salary - £35000 - £45000

Our client, a busy international well-established logistics organisation are recruiting for a Site Supervisor. The role will involve carrying out new marine piling, refurbishment of existing pontoons and the installation of mechanical and electrical infrastructure both on the landside and on the pontoons.

As Site Supervisor, you will assist in planning and co-ordinating works, and undertake site inspections to assist in the management of health and safety, quality & compliance checks for the civils and M&E works.

This position is to start in September 2022 and is anticipated to complete around mid-2024.

Duties
• To act as Site Supervisor under the NEC3 ECC for a range of work packages for civil engineering works.
• To support the Project Manager overseeing the quality control of the contractor’s work.
• To work with the Port Operations team to implement plans to ensure that construction works are undertaken with minimum disruption to port operations.
• To review the contractor’s health and safety documentation for construction works.
• To carry out formal and informal inspections of on-going works, ensuring that all work is undertaken in an efficient manner and complies with the appropriate standards of safety and quality.
• To maintain detailed site diaries recording progress of work, including plant, materials and labour.
• To provide assistance to other team members as required.

Generic Duties
• Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor from time to time. Such duties will be reasonable in relation to the job holder’s skills, abilities and status.
• To comply with environmental instructions and to identify potential risks to the environment, or areas where environmental impact can be reduced.
• To comply with all safety instructions and to accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by what you do. To identify potential risks in the work area, and to report such risks promptly to management.

ESSENTIAL
• BTEC level 4 Construction and Built Environment (HNC), or NVQ Level 3 in Built Environment and Design
• Construction Site Management Qualification (SMSTS, NVQ Construction Site Management or similar).
• A proven track record of site supervisory roles of civil engineering aspects of multidisciplinary projects in ‘live’ operational environments.
• NEC3 ECC – Supervisor role on multidisciplinary projects.
• A proven track record of responsibility from the construction phase of civil engineering projects.
• A thorough understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and management of construction sites.
• A thorough understanding of environmental requirements and considerations on civil engineering projects.

DESIRABLE
• HND Civil Engineering (or similar).
• NEC3 Supervisors Certificate.
• Incorporate Engineering (IEng) with the ICE
• Experience of working for Client, Designer and Contractor.
• Experience of Port Environment.
• Sound understanding of M&E services.

General Skills and Abilities
• Good Communicator.
• Problem Solver / Decision Maker.
• Structured / Methodical approach.
• Work on own initiative.
• Pro-active.
• Good user skills of AutoCAD
