To support its on-going investment in staff ATS-Folkestone are seeking this Years new apprentices to be based at its Folkestone site.
ATS Folkestone is parts of the ATS Group of companies which has 3 manufacturing sites in Kent, a Design service based in the North East and a manufacturing facility in China.
The Folkestone site is predominantly involved in the manufacture and production of Injection Mould tools for the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical & Building Products sectors alongside our moulding division that moulds component parts. We also carry-out specialist High Speed machining for the F1 & Defence sectors using the latest in HS Machining centres and CAD/CAM software.
The apprenticeship will be for a period of 4 Years and will include formal training at college alongside practical training within the workshop, after successful completion of training the apprentice will be awarded with fully indentured apprenticeship papers from the GTMA (Gauge & Toolmakers Association) alongside their formal qualifications.
To support this important & challenging role the ideal candidate will have the following:
• Good academic results in Maths, English, IT and a Science.
• A drive to understand how and why things work.
• A willingness to learn from others.
• A keen eye for detail.
• A willingness to work within a busy workshop environment.
• College courses may be in Ashford or Dover so the candidate must be able to travel to these locations using either their own or public transport.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Preference will be given to candidates who are already studying an Engineering discipline at College.
