What’s great about working with children and young people?

It’s many things, seeing young people develop skills, confidence and self-esteem… making friends… trying new things… developing resilience… establishing their own identity… achieving dreams and goals… reaching their potential!

You could be part of this.

We are looking for people who can quickly establish rapport with children and young people and their families, and take the lead in arranging and delivering fun activities that challenge and inspire participants.

1 x full-time role- Maidstone & Gravesham- worked across Wednesday to Saturday

1 x part-time role- Sevenoaks & Dartford- worked across Thursday to Saturday

You’ll join an established team working with vulnerable children and young people aged 8-19 years, delivering a programme of late afternoon activities, Saturday clubs and school holiday trips and events.

You will build the programme for your area; planning, organising and risk assessing activities that match the interests and needs of the young people, supporting personal development, independence and community engagement. You’ll then lead the activities, working alongside colleagues and volunteers to support the young people to participate, interact and make choice and decisions together.

You’ll be allocated an existing caseload of children and young people with disabilities, and will take on new referrals, working with participants and their families to create appropriate care plans. You will need to keep excellent records and maintain regular communication with families.

We want to reach more young people, so there will be opportunities to promote the service by visiting schools and community groups, and to develop wider networks. Applicants may have relevant experience of working or volunteering in education, health or social care, or be looking to start a career working with children or young people.

There is some flexibility on the hours and days to be worked and this can be discussed on application. Car Driver essential. Salary is pro rata for part-time roles.

We offer our employees:
• Inclusive values-based environment
• Competitive remuneration package
• Workplace pension scheme
• Generous annual leave entitlement
• Opportunities for hybrid working
• Benenden Health Care
• Death in Service Benefit
• Cycle to Work Scheme
• Employee Supported Volunteering scheme
• Development opportunities
• and more
