Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, an established firm of Chartered Accountants for an experienced Practice Manager to join their Maidstone office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant who is looking for a chance to develop and progress within a well-established growing firm.
About our client:
Our client is a successful four partner, 3 office Chartered Practice specialising in accountancy, taxation and business advice within the SME owner managed sector. They have a portfolio of around 1,000 clients which include personal tax, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
The role will entail:
- Dealing with all aspects of running a client portfolio of owner managed businesses, principally limited companies
- Assisting with the day to day management of the office and workflows
- Planning workloads and meeting deadlines
- Participating in networking and marketing activities to promote the business
- Supervising and reviewing the work of other team members and participating in their personal development and progression
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- A highly motivated, self-starter with plenty of initiative
- Good people skills and a friendly and helpful approach to clients
- The ability to network and participate in marketing activities
- A detailed knowledge of corporate and personal tax within an SME environment is essential
- Experience managing all aspects of a portfolio of clients
- At least 5 years recent practice experience within a firm of accountants
- At least 3 years recent experience working in a supervisory/management position within an accountancy practice
- Ideally ICAEW or ACCA qualified, although exceptional AAT, Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience would be considered
- An in-depth working knowledge of accountancy software packages such as: IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero is essential
The salary for this position is in the range of £50,000 to £70,000 depending upon experience. In addition an attractive equity package may be offered after a period of service and this is an exciting opportunity for someone to progress to a business owner.
