Consequently, are you a Graduate looking for your first role or someone looking for a new position? If so, an opportunity has arisen for a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Commercial team.

This is a permanent, full-time position working on various contracts. You should ideally be located within the Kent area and willing travel.

Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor responsibilities include:
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in preparation of interim and final accounts.
• Assist in the receipt of payments once interim accounts are certified.
• Assist in managing day to day commercial and contract activities and sub-contract procurement ensuring best value.
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract valuations and final accounts.
• Learn the working practices of NEC 4 and JCT Conditions of Contract.
• Assist in gathering information for preparation of compensation events/variations (depending on form of contract).
• Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.
• Ability to undertake site measures when required.
• Work closely with operational teams.
• Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.

Experience/skills:
• Methodical way of thinking
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and problem solving skills
• Good financial and numeracy management skills
• Computer literate
