A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to work for my client who are an established family owned business.
As the ideal candidate, you will have previous haulage experience and planning of UK routes. You will require excellent communication and customer services skills. The ability to work under pressure within a busy transport office is imperative, along with a positive flexible attitude to achieving the best utilisation of the vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning loads and reloads for fleet trailers
* Ensuring trucks are profitable and covering key client committed lanes
* Liaising with hauliers to ensure on time collections and deliveries
* Sourcing backloads and ensuring minimum empty mileage is achieved
Skills Required For The Role
* Experience of planning jobs for drivers and/or transport agents and maximising their productivity, or at least some route planning experience
* Excellent communication skills are essential as you will spend a large amount of time on the phone with suppliers
* Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
* Good IT skills
Hours
Monday- Friday 9am-5:30pm and the occasional Saturday
* On-site parking
* Health care plan
