Goldhawk Associates are working to support a Top 20 Firm in London that is looking to appoint an Associate Director to join their accounting & business advisory team. This is a senior appointment within the leadership team and you will play an integral part in ensuring the success of the team and supporting, coaching, and mentoring them to bring out the best of their abilities. This role is working within their team who are responsible for the preparation of accounts for clients at all levels from large corporates to SME`s.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing client services and ensuring the quality of work, managing the workflow, delegating work, and supervising the team. You will also be responsible for managing budgets, and ensuring the level of service provision is matching the firm`s high standards. You will be expected to take a proactive approach to business development and identify opportunities to upsell services and identify new business opportunities with both exciting and new clients.

You will be ACA/ACCA qualified and have a good understanding of financial reporting and FS reporting standards, LLP SORP and UK GAAP.

You will be responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services on a portfolio of clients. To work alongside other service lines such as Audit and Tax and report to the client relationship Partner on matters of additional advisory and client care. Expected to practice the principles of excellent client service at all times.
- Managing the working capital of the above projects including budgeting, cost management, billing, and debt recoverability. To ensure resources are planned effectively and team members are briefed appropriately to deliver projects to clients in line with RSM`s quality guidelines and procedures.
- Maintaining and developing client relationships.
- Acting as a senior team member and leader in the team. An Associate Director is a senior member of the management team and is expected to act as a role model in their approach and actions for more junior managers.
- Coaching and developing the team. This includes acting as a line manager, mentoring, and performing job appraisals.
- Participating in business development. An Associate Director is expected to contribute to growing the department and the firm by participating in targeting and lead generation, supporting proposals to new clients, and agreeing on projects with the firm`s existing clients.
- Developing a detailed knowledge of the firm`s specialist services, actively looking for opportunities to cross-sell and undertake special work in response to client needs where appropriate.
- Developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and fulfilling the Institute`s CPD requirements.
- Overseeing and reviewing work completed by managers, supervisors, and assistants. To ensure firm policy and procedures are followed.
- Maintaining awareness and observation of Health & Safety issues within the Firm and reporting any concerns to the Health and Safety Representative.
- Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, the title of the role, and its grading, as requested.

Desired:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified - ability to read and interpret accounting standards and apply them to commercial situations.
- A minimum of four years of experience at a manager level or above.
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience in building lasting client relationships.
- Experience with the preparation and review of consolidated accounts and cash flows.
- An adaptable and collaborative team player able to work at all levels from trainee to Partner. Advanced coaching and development skills. Experience as a line manager.
- The ability and talent to make a positive contribution through business development.
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and add value
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office products including MS Word and MS Excel.
