Longleys Private Hire is a premium Taxi company which covers the Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay areas. Founded in 1966, our business is still family-owned and loved by the community we serve.
Local families have depended on us for safe, reliable transport for multiple generations - we drive children to school whose grandparents remember travelling with Longleys! In more recent years we have extended our service to the local business community, and we hold many prestigious contracts - we're the Taxi supplier to Canterbury Cathedral, The Kings School and the University of Kent. There's always an interesting passenger to collect!
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for people who enjoy working hard, have goals in life and want to share in the success of our business. Our most successful drivers come from a wide variety of backgrounds - it may be surprising how many of your existing skills are directly transferrable.
Candidates with directly transferrable skills would include:
• Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance).
• Ex Forces (Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy).
• Self-Employed Couriers or existing Private Hire Drivers.
• Bus, Coach or other PCV Drivers.
• HGV or LGV Drivers.
• Local Delivery Drivers (Postal Service, Supermarket, Pharmacy or Takeaway).
However, successful drivers can come from surprising backgrounds:
Sales, Customer Service, Hospitality, Retail, Teaching, Care Work, Cleaning, Security, Factory Work and even Senior Management positions (You could ditch the massive commute and work closer to home!).
Requirements
• 21+ (Insurance and Licencing Requirement)
• Full Manual Driving Licence, held for at least 2 years.
• Willing to work 40+ hours per week.
• Flexibility to help cover some peak times (Early Mornings, Evenings and Weekends)
