Supply Chain Manager
North Kent - Hybrid working available
Full time, Monday - Friday
Salary DOE + pension and good holiday allowance

My client is a leading manufacturing with an international presence. Having been established for nearly 50 years they supply specialist products to leading industries and clients globally.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Supply Chain Manager to be responsible for the movement of goods from their international manufacturing sites to the UK warehouse and end customers. You will oversee and manage every stage of the supply chain from purchasing the raw materials to the delivery of the final product.

Responsibilities:
*Ensure you are aware of exactly what is happening throughout the supply chain.
*Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process.
*Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality.
*Manage and minimise any risks that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
*Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery.
*Manage and motivate juniors in the team
*Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
*Oversee product storage, handling, and distribution.
*Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain to meet sustainability targets.
*Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analysing performance.
*Plan and implement logistical strategy.
*Control manufacturing and delivery processes.
*Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers (alongside another member of the business)
*Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers for the group (alongside another member of the business)
Skills
*Vast experience in supply chain and logistics management roles.
*Experience in a manufacturing business
*Knowledge and exposure in a global business (import knowledge key)
*Strong planning skills.
*Understanding of risk management in the context of the supply chain.
*Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as to think strategically and laterally.
*Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
*Negotiation and influencing skills.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
*Ability to lead and motivate a team.
*IT literacy, skills in Excel and the ability to handle electronic data.
