We are currently working with a leading fresh produce business based near Sittingbourne. Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Packaging/Label Operative to join their team.

The Packaging/Label Operative Operative will be responsible for controlling, verifying, printing, issuing and recording labels for production, ensuring the information is accurate in accordance with customer specifications. Maintain appropriate quantities of current stock levels within the packaging issue area.

Responsibilities include:

Move packaging around site using appropriate equipment (i.e. reach truck) and ensure all pallet movements are scanned in and out of location.
Receive packaging deliveries and complete all associated paperwork.
Control the data entry, correct input parameters and verification of labels.
Control the printing, production and issue of labels in accordance with up to date specifications and technical standards.
Produce and maintain clear administrative records regarding the printing, traceability and issuing of labels.
Ensure that the printers and scanners are maintained and available at all times.
Continuously look for ways to improve the business processes of the packaging issue area, and report them to the Packaging Supervisor or Manager.
Issue correct packaging per job requirements.
Record all packaging movements in and out of the issue area.
Ensure all packaging is covered and has traceability labels.
Maintain high levels of Health, Safety, Hygiene, housekeeping and contamination practices and standards in your work area.
Adhere to all relevant customer, industry and legislative standards i.e. British Retail Consortium (BRC), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Communicate effectively with production and report any non-conformances to a Manager.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience working in a warehouse environment
Experience using a reach truck and associated licences
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of health & safety

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business that can offer ongoing training and career progression. Hours for this role will be based on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 6am - 6pm.
