Qualified Bookkeeper

Currently Maidstone based. Company relocating within the next few months to Swale or Medway area
£30,000pa
8am – 4.30pm

Having built a renowned reputation for technical help and support, extensive product knowledge and a great personal service, we have enjoyed steady growth over the years and have many exciting opportunities on hand to pursue. We have a wonderful loyal team of enthusiastic staff and are excited at the prospect of bringing a bookkeeper on board to join us on our journey.

Currently based in Maidstone however relocating to different premises within the next few months. Likely to be either Swale or Medway area.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining all financial records including purchases, sales, receipts and payments
• Preparing all relevant information in a timely manner to the accountant on a monthly basis
• Providing financial analysis and reports as required by management
• Keep in regular contact with our accountants to assist them in anyway in producing mthly management accounts
• Setting up and managing supplier payments
• Tracking and assist with managing expense budgets
• Managing cash flow and completing bank reconciliations on a daily basis
• Liaising with customers with account queries
• Managing the credit control process
• Carrying out general administrative duties – for example, assist with procuring insurance for fleet, business, goods in transit etc. and managing the claims process where required
• Providing company accountants with year-end information and handling any queries
• Report to the General Manager

Knowledge, qualification and experience:

• AAT qualification minimum
• Min. 2 years’ business and bookkeeping experience
• Reporting queries and data extracts using Sage (or equivalent)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes especially Excel
• Experience in a buy/sell industry an advantage
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Ability to learn new systems
• The ability to challenge the status quo, lead change and implement better working practices
• Accuracy - High attention to detail
• Unswerving commitment to deadlines and the ability to work under pressure
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team as required
• The ability to follow up other work colleagues and insist on the maintenance of regular reporting
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage their time effectively
