General Cover Supply Teacher- Shepway- Folkestone- Hythe

The Government is asking former teachers who have the skills and time to return to the classroom to sign up today! Those who are recently retired, or trained as a teacher and moved career, are asked to consider whether they can find even a day a week for the spring term to help protect face-to-face education.

Your new company

The Omicron variant is expected to continue to cause increased staff absence levels in the spring term. Supply Teachers/Cover supervisors are in demand to help support local schools covering short term absence in various secondary schools. Many of these schools are currently working exclusively and in partnership with Hays Education which means guaranteed work for as many days in the week you are available.

Your new role

Your role will be short term cover assignments in schools across Shepway. Advanced cover options are available as well as assignments that are called in on the morning. You will cover a range of lessons for KS3 and KS4, where the work will be set and given to you on arrival at the school. The assignments can range from anything from part days (AM or PM), full days, full weeks and anything up to 3 weeks at a time. General working hours will be from 08.30 to 15.00, although this does vary in each school.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a minimum of 40 days experience working with children in a school, in any capacity over the last 2 years to meet the minimum compliance standards. Experienced teachers or cover supervisors / TA's would be preferable but any level of teaching experience is accepted. You must have a driven attitude to help students achieve their best in the absence of their current teacher. You will need to have good classroom and behaviour management skills and be flexible with travel within Shepway.
