Our client, an extremely successful company based in near Maidstone are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join them on a full time and permanent basis.

This position sits within a specialist Purchasing function, so any exposure to supply chain or manufacturing previously would be a huge advantage!

The ideal candidate will be highly customer focussed and organised, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and differing timescales.

Duties for this position include:

* Purchasing required materials as highlighted on MRP
* Expediting orders and updating the system accordingly for other departments
* Demand planning of raw materials
* Actively sourcing new suppliers and best deals
* Liaising with Freight Forwarders tracking the delivery and progression of raw materials
* Assist Purchasing Team projects to drive cost savings
* Issuing raw material prices to the accounts team for individual costings
* Monthly price vile coordination
* Order creation and sending to key suppliers
* Running various reports
* Data cleansing
* Any other ad-hoc, administration or project-based duties as required

The successful candidate will have/be:

* Strong, solid administration experience preferably within Purchasing or Procurement
* FMCG experience required
* A meticulous attention to detail
* A natural problem solver
* Innovative, commercially aware and process driven
* An intermediate - advanced Excel user
* Numerate, literate
* A good academic record - NVQ, degree in Purchasing/ Procurement desired
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
