My client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join its firm. My client has been advising and supporting business owners and SMEs in a wide variety of industries, providing accountancy and tax advice including assistance with complex HMRC investigations for over 25 years.
Reporting into the Senior Accounts Manager, duties will consist of taking accounts from raw books and records all the way to trial balance using numerous accountancy software packages such as SAGE 50, Xero, CCH and Microsoft Excel.
What does it entail?
• Bookkeeping for sole traders and company (limited and limited liability partnership) accounts
• Processing quarterly VAT returns for limited and partnership clients
• Performing bank reconciliations for year end accounts
• Providing analysis and forecast financial reporting; such as advising of potential issues, trends and improvements
• Assisting the Senior Accounts Manager with client documentation workflow to ensure all deadline dates are met
• Creating good working relationships with clients
• Generating routine letters and administrative work
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the company and the over business objectives of the company.
What skills and experience do I need?
• Efficient and sound bookkeeping experience within practice or industry
• AAT qualified or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of bookkeeping / double entry systems and journal entry
• Knowledge of different accounting packages i.e. Sage, CCH, Xero
• Advanced Excel skills
• Good organisational abilities including prioritising workloads to deal with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to deliver high quality documents
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
