Leading Transport company is looking for an Operations Controller to join their team at an exciting and challenging time. As the Operations Controller, you will use your skills to coordinate and control vehicle and driver operations, predominantly on a PM shift between 13:30 - 22:30.

Responsibilities include:
Manage and support the driving team to deliver services on time, while maintaining a high level of customer care.
Anticipate potential service disruptions and achieve resolutions by making scheduling adjustments and implementing short/long term diversions.
Plan, schedule and communicate driver duties and vehicle allocations and update allocations software and, where necessary, update AM operations team.
Monitor and plan all duties to ensure vehicle movements are operated cost-effectively and with the least environmental impact possible.
Provide superb customer service; dealing with immediate consequences of incidents, informing and assisting customers and addressing complaints.
Adhere always with the company's values and work to promote these values to the driving team

Key Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in ground transport operations is a strong advantage but not essential.
Capability to react quickly and with confidence to changing situations while under pressure.
Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective management of a large team of multi-skill level drivers and support staff.
Good general problem-solving ability.
Excellent knowledge of EU Driver's Hours Regulations.
Good geographical knowledge of London and the South East and reasonable geographical knowledge of the UK and Europe.
Ability to provide a high standard of customer service.Very strong communication skills that enable you to provide clear and concise instruction, particularly when under pressure.
Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure.
Experience in managing a mobile workforce is an advantage.
Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong literacy with the ability to communicate effectively through the written word.Ability to work well as part of a team and support colleagues to deliver a high standard of service
Good attention to detail.
Excellent people management skills and previous experience in holding challenging conversations and/or disciplinary meetings is an advantage.
