If you enjoy the balance between providing a first class student-facing service with the challenge of juggling high volume administrative work, this role could be ideal for you.
Reporting to the Education & Student Experience Manager within the Division of Natural Sciences, you will take responsibility for the programme-related student administration across the full range of programmes within the Division, including Year Abroad and Year in Industry activity, ensuring that the service provided by the Programmes Administration team is efficient and effective and considers wider Divisional strategies.
The Programmes Administration team contribute to, and have an important role in, ensuring a high-quality teaching and learning experience for both students and staff by delivering consistent and integrated services and administrative processes to a high standard. You will line manage the Programmes Administration team, supported by research and taught programme coordinators who will be responsible for the day to day supervision of any administrators and assistants in the team.

As Programmes Administration Officer you will:
provide operational management support to the Education & Student Experience Manager in close liaison with other staff with an Education-related portfolio
build and maintain effective productive working relationships between the Programmes Administration team and the programme areas to ensure that efficient and effective support is provided and that quality standards are maintained across all programmes
oversee the annual timetable and teaching planning process in order to facilitate the smooth running of taught modules
manage the assessment and examination (including Boards of Examiners) processes for the Division’s programmes
To succeed in this role, you will need:
substantial experience in an administrative support role with experience of student administration or equivalent experience in a busy office in an administrative role
excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently and diplomatically with people at all levels, from students to senior management
experience and knowledge of student records systems/timetabling systems or similar complex databases
line management/supervisory experience and the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively
