We are excited to be supporting the recruitment of an Process Improvement & Energy technician to join Discovery Park, a leading science park and facilities management provider. We are looking for candidates who may have experience of process improvement (ideally in a manufacturing/process industry environment) and who have a basic understanding of engineering principles with some technical hands on experience.
Reporting to the Energy Manager, responsibilities will include:
* Collection of site wide energy data
* Conducting detailed data analysis to identify potential energy reduction projects
* Working with the Utilities and Engineering teams to support and implement a range of small and large projects
* Analysis of large data-sets to identify trends and exceptions, investigate detected exceptions and collation of energy specific reports
* To review utility billing and consumption data, assisting in the production of monthly performance analysis reports based on energy use data.
* Establish useful metrics to allow process efficiency to be trended and to support the identification of areas for energy reduction and cost savings
The person:
* Proficient in use of IT - intermediate level in Microsoft Excel required
* Technically literate with some form of engineering or manufacturing qualification
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to understand basic engineering principles relevant to building & utility services
* Ability to problem solve
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
* Motivated and able to work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
* Good organisational skills and ability to work to strict monthly deadlines
This is an amazing place to work, parking on site, a community feel with relaxation areas, BBQ's during the summer and open plan offices. Working hours are Monday to Friday - 40 hours with 23 days holiday plus bank holidays.
