Burtons has been established for 40 years and is the leading company in manufacturing and supplying veterinary equipment in the UK.

Job Title:

Visual Studio C++/C# Programmer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced programmer familiar with developing programs for Windows applications using C# and C++ within the Visual Studio development environment.

The applicant should be familiar with object-oriented programming, multi-threading, SQL and have experience of developing stand-alone programs from scratch as well as modifying existing code. Experience with embedded firmware using C, although not required, would be an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to work in the veterinary industry developing innovative products for cutting-edge technology.

The successful individual will report direct to the Clinical/Development Director.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Development and maintenance of custom software supporting a range of veterinary equipment, including ventilation and life-support products.

· Working with a project leader/coordinator you will be responsible for producing programs to fit our internal development requirements as well as working on bespoke software for our international research projects.

· May require travel to/from our Devon facility.

Qualifications & Skills:

· 5 years experience of developing Windows applications

· Familiarity with Visual Studio development environment

· Experience coding in C# and C++

· Ability to work alone and as part of a team

· Embedded C programming experience preferred but not essential

· SQL database experience preferred but not essential

· Android/Apple development experience preferred but not essential

Pay & Benefits:

· Salary £40,000 to £55,000 dependent upon experience

· Full time contract, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
