We are in urgent need of a van driver for our Community shop.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic community organisation that serves the community in which you will be working. You'll have the chance to meet people from all walks of life and become part of a close knit team.
You will be responsible for the delivery of furniture and other bulky items from our store to our customers, and collecting donations. You will make up around 8 drops or collects a day.
The ideal candidate will have responsibility for the performance of our furniture, so an awareness of these products would be an advantage.
You will be in direct contact with our customers, so you will have excellent customer service skills, and a positive can-do attitude.
You will often be accompanied by a volunteer for larger deliveries so you will need to be able to work as a team whilst directing a more junior member of staff.
You will come into contact with people with learning difficulties or on the autistic spectrum so the ideal candidate will be sensitive and respectful to the needs of these individuals.
You may be required to work on the retail side of our operation when demand for deliveries is low.
This is a job involving manual work, so you will need to be prepared for hard work. In return you will become and integral part of a small close knit team, have lots of fun, and be directly helping your community.
This job is 3 days per week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9am til 4.30pm with half hour break for lunch.
Must have a clean driving license.
