The Abbey School is looking to appoint a casual relief Community Sports Assistant to cover staff holiday and absence. The successful candidate will be required to work under the supervision of the Community Sports Manager.
The community sports provision operates between 17.00 and 22.00 during weekday evenings and 10.00 to 19.00 at weekends.
This is a busy role and will involve liaising with our community partners, so a high level of customer service and communication skills are essential. Previous experience of working in a similar customer-facing role be would be an advantage.
Principal Accountabilities & Specific Responsibility
• To follow all School and centre N.O.P.S and know where to find the information, if required and to ensure clients and clubs are aware of
these and that all tasks are completed in accordance with procedures that are in place.
• Responsibility for reporting any risks or dangers that could harm or cause injury immediately to their line manager and or relevant
person(s).
• Responsibility for completing the daily safety and jobs check sheet and ensuring all equipment and areas are safe to use.
• Responsibility for ensuring all jobs and special responsibilities given by their line manager are completed within the scheduled time and in
accordance with the centre’s procedures.
• Responsibility for maintaining a professional working relationship with all staff, members, clubs and all clients.
• Responsibility for determining if a client is safe to undertake the proposed booking.
• The supervision of all clients and clubs to ensure all facilities and equipment is being used safely and in accordance with the appropriate
H&S regulations.
• Responsibility for ensuring the centre and other facilities that fall under the Centre’s umbrella are opened and secured in accordance with
school procedures.
• To be confident and proficient in answering the phone, conducting tours, providing clients with all centre and club information and using
the booking software to manage facilities and bookings.
• To ensure all paperwork is printed, filled in and signed accurately and stored in the correct place.
